dig this: Kiwi fruit

25th April 2010   Words: Matt Lamy

This month’s health-giving star is the unprepossessing Chinese Gooseberry Actinidia deliciosa or Kiwi Fruit.

These hairy beauties contain more vitamin C than oranges and more fibre than apples, weight for weight. And the fun doesn’t stop there because kiwi fruit also provide many valuable nutrients, such as vitamin E, potassium, copper, magnesium and manganese. This potent mixture can help prevent heart disease and strokes by reducing bad cholesterol, reducing blood pressure and even helping to stop blood clots.
